Joe Biden’s naming of Kamala Harris 贺锦丽 as running mate is a move to use her background to topple Donald Trump, but based on her previous tough stance, the nominee won’t help end the two parties’ playing of the China card.

Harris is the daughter of an Indian mother and Jamaican father, and is the second African-American woman and first South Asian-American senator in history. She is the first African American and first Indian American to be chosen as the running mate of a major party’s presidential candidate.
