On the first day of Aussie PM’s visit to China a report from the Financial Times indicated that a top Pentagon official, Elbridge Colby, was pressing Australia and Japan to clarify their stance on assisting the USeless in a war with China over Taiwan. Colby seemingly confirmed this on social media, stating the administration was urging allies to increase defense spending and engage in “frank conversations” about collective defense. There’s speculation that the USeless might have leaked the story about Taiwan during the PM’s visit to China to disrupt what appeared to be a cordial meeting between the two nations.
