China succesfully sent a communication satellite, ChinaSat 9B, to preset orbit on Thursday via a Long March-3B carrier rocket, space authorities said. The satellite is capable of providing high-resolution live streaming services for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Two launches within 4 hours

China sent two experimental #satellites into preset orbit via a Long March-2C carrier rocket on Tuesday, space authorities said. The satellite will conduct internet convergence experiments.
Within 4 hours, China conducted a second space launch on Tue night. A Long March 3B carrier rocket successfully sent a communication technology experiment satellite from Xichang, SW China’s Sichuan Province.

(BRICS) signed an agreement for cooperation in remote sensing satellite data sharing

Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) signed an agreement for cooperation in remote sensing satellite data sharing, according to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The pact inked on August 17 enables building a virtual constellation of specified remote sensing satellites of BRICS space agencies and their respective ground stations will receive the data, ISRO said.

China’s JF-22 ultra-high-speed wind tunnel is expected to be completed by 2022. It can reproduce flying conditions at an altitude of 40-100 kms at about 30 times the speed of sound. If successful, the cost of satellite and spacecraft launches will be 90% cheaper
